A is For.
ARTISTS DEDICATED TO ADVANCING REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS & ENDING THE STIGMA AGAINST ABORTION CARE.
I know you are a big supporter of reproductive rights, so I wanted to make you aware of this opportunity.
A is For, a non-profit founded by Martha Plimpton and Kellie Overbey in 2012, emerged as a response to the ever-escalating legislative attacks on access to safe reproductive healthcare. They envision a world in which every woman has access to the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare free from shame, stigma, and obstruction. This year with the threat of the current administration seating an anti-choice Justice on the Supreme Court, reproductive rights in the United States have never been in more jeopardy.
A is For’s 4th annual celebrity karaoke gala Broadway Acts for Women will be on Sunday, September 30th this year, once again at Feinstein's/54 Below. The event will benefit the National Network of Abortion Funds, Access Reproductive Care, and National Advocates for Pregnant Women.
This year the event will feature more artists than ever before: Waitress composer and star Sara Bareilles, Judy Kuhn, Hamilton star Brandon Victor Dixon, Wicked star Jessica Vosk, Summer star Ariana DeBose, Bonnie Milligan and Jeremy Kushnier from Head Over Heels, Olivier winner Lesli Margherita, AMA and Grammy nominee Deborah Cox,
As usual, SNL's Cecily Strong is hosting, backed up by downtown empress-aria Amanda Duarte holding the Raging Feminazi Gavel as bidders compete for the prizes and the chance to choose which songs the performers will sing, accompanied by Dan Lipton and the A is For band.
It's the fastest paced, most exciting benefit of the year and everyone who attends says so. And it's never recorded, so the magic and mayhem if FOR YOUR EYES ONLY. This is A is For's signature event, and they do it really, really well.
There are a limited number of Ally, Advocate and Ambassador sponsorships available for attending sponsors. But you can certainly be a sponsor even if you don’t attend!
